Jumping in Mumbai

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ Mumbai, india,

In November 2024, we took a relocation cruise from Dubai to Singapore with Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas. The first port of call was Mumbai, India where we stayed overnight.

After docking and immigration, we took a hailed taxi ride to the Gateway of India, built in 1924 to commemorate the landing of King George V to Mumbai (then Bombay) for his coronation as the Emperor of India in December 1911. Area qas quite packed (like the rest of Mumbai) but we managed to find a nice spot to jump.

I was proud to see that after me, other travelers started taking jumping photos at the same location!

We continued walking north and passed by the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya Museum (formerly Prince of Wales Museum of Western India). The building is beautiful and made for a great backdrop for another jump photo. You may notice the change of t-shirt as the first one didn't really behave in the heat and humidity of Mumbai! ๐Ÿ˜‚

We didn't have the time to visit the museum as we were on our way to a street food tour of Mumbai, later that afternoon.

The food tour first took us to the beach area of Chowpatty Beach where we started having some veg snacks. Then we headed deep into the alleys of Mumbai's old town, where we sampled a variety of local street food. The people density and permanent chaos of the area was quite an experience. But we had a great time, the food was very nice and my belly survived it like a champ!
