Sylvain had joined us in Glasgow for a few days' road trip in Scotland. It was a bit last minute, and most of the hotels and Airbnbs were booked. But fortunately, we found an amazing lodge in Loch Linnhe, near Fort William, complete with dramatic views of the surroundings from an outdoor jacuzzi. But first, we had to get there.
After checking out from the Doubletree Glasgow, we Uber-XLโd ourselves to pick up the car, a Polestar 2, apparently from Volvo. It turned out to be electric and a nice car.
We first made a stop in Balloch for a little walk up to the castle. The castle was being renovated, but the walk and the views were nice. On the way back, we had lunch at the Waterhouse Inn. I had a nice but super-filling Cajun chicken enchilada.
We then took the road again, and the views got more and more stunning the further we went. We stopped at Loch Bร for a little walk and to jump around the lake.
You cannot get a better weather than this in Scotland.
We arrived at the Loch Linnhe Waterfront Lodges a bit after 5 pm. The place was amazing: a 2-bedroom lodge with a small living room, fully equipped kitchen (including Nespresso), a big terrace overlooking the loch, and a biiiiig hot tub. Just perfect. J and I went for some quick shopping while Joss was testing out the tub. We then celebrated with a (very bad) cava and had dinner at the restaurant of the Hollytree Hotel, to which the lodges belong. After dinner, we opened the Gรฉnรฉpi (๐ฅด) and had a few drinks before calling it a day.
