Jumping in Chapelle Saint-Pancrace
- Forcalquier, France
After Monaco, we spent a week in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (04, as we call it) to catch up with the family in Forcalquier. We were there for Bastille Day on July 14th and its fireworks.
It was very hot that week, but nothing that could stop me from jumping! This time in front of the Chapelle Saint-Pancrace, dedicated to the patron saint of Forcalquier.
A chapel stood here as early as the 12th century, but the current buildings date from the 16th and 17th centuries, restored in 1733. It was once called Notre-Dame de Bon Secours, and comes with a small oratory and an old priory. Listed as a historic monument in 1997, it is now being restored by the town.
