When applying for a Chinese Visa you need to provide, amongst many other papers, a proof of residence en China, at least for a part of your trip. The easiest way to do it it by booking a room of an international hotel chain that offer you easy ways to change or cancel your bookings at no cost. So, back in France 3 months before even starting our Paris > Shanghai adventure, we had booked a couple of nights at the Hilton Shanghai.
After our Sanya time, we decided we would not cancel our booking and use that shiny hotel at a base camp for visiting the World Expo 2010. And mister Hilton was grateful enough to upgrade us again into an Executive room on top floor with amazing views on the city.
Only problem was that the ceiling was not very high and I didn’t want my head smashed against it while Jumping. Hence the bizarre jump.
