Onboard Explorer of the Seas, on our way from Barcelona to Dubai, J., Sylvain, and I are now on the mythical Suez Canal, bridging the Mediterranean and the Red Sea.
It is my second time crossing Suez; the first time was northbound, the year before, onboard the CMA CGM Magellan container ship (in ๐ซ๐ท French).
The Suez Canal is a fascinating place - a very narrow canal mostly in the middle of the desert. Adding to the fun, we spotted dolphins that we named Klaus. They followed us for most of the day.
Little did we know that by the time these jumps would be published more than 5 years later, Suez would be all over the news. Something about a ship deciding to go sideways, making it an ever-givengiving source of memes.
