After a day in Ulaanbaatar, relaxing, walking around the (tiny) capital and, most importantly, eating like crazy, we were ready to start a 4-day tour around Mongolia.
The first stop was Terelj National Park, two hours from Ulan Bator. It is a very peaceful place with stunning landscapes.
We stayed in this ger.
Gers are great as long as you take care of the fire. But after everybody goes to sleep, the fire just stops and in 30 minutes, it can be damn freezing cold in those things! You better be prepared and have a good sleeping bag.
Cold can sometimes lead you to doing stupid things to keep warm.
We spent the day eating, drinking tea, and walking around. At sunset, we went on a horse ride. It was absolutely great being the only ones in this remote area.
