Jumping in San Christobal de las Casas

20 May, 2015 from San Cristobal, Mexico Leave a Comment

August 1024, the USA road trip is over.

J joins me in Los Angeles. From there we spend a couple of days in San Diego and then go to Los Cabos in Mexico where we chill for a week (and don’t even Jump… oops :)). We then head to in San Cristobal de las Casas, in the Chiapas, south of Mexico.

Jumping in New Orleans

25 March, 2015 from New Orleans, United States Leave a Comment

From New-York, we took a train to New Orleans: 30 hours later, we were there. I traveling by train and this ride was awesome !

New Orleans (aka NOLA) is very different from anything else in the US. It’s hot and humid, thousands of people come here to get crazy. Downtown, you always have some live music somewhere in a bar or the street and you can smoke and drink everywhere… I let you figure out the result !

Jumping in Lisbon

11 June, 2011 from Lisbon, Portugal Leave a Comment

Portugal had been missing on my list for way too long. Hence I was very much looking forward to spending 4 days in Lisbon. And it was truly wonderful!

Jumping in Lisbon

Lisbon is a gorgeous city. It spreads on 7 hills and overlooks the Tage River and the Atlantic. The weather was just perfect, so was the food and the general relaxed-mood. And, what’s more, we realized that we arrived just for the Festas de Lisboa, also know as the weekend-long sardin BBQ party.

Jumping Around Cluj-Napoca

11 March, 2011 from Cluj-Napoca, Romania Leave a Comment

Taking advantage of a very cheap Wizzair flight to Cluj-Napoca, I ended up spending a weekend in this little city in northern Romania along with Sylvain.

I must admit my total lack of culture and confess that I didn’t even know about the name of this city before booking the tickets. After some little digging, you’ll learn that Cluj-Napoca it located in Transylvania, famous for Dracula and other dark stories. Maybe this is why they have the strongest Garlic sauce I ever tasted ?

The city in itself is quiet during the day but become very lively at night as this is mostly a student city. Compared to the rainy & grey weather in Paris at the same time, it was a real relief to be spending a weekend in a sunny place like this.

Jumping in Sofia

30 October, 2010 from Sofia, Bulgaria Leave a Comment

Taking advantage of an extended weekend for All Saints day, as well as an incredibly cheap flight ticket from Wizzair, I decided to go and jump around Bulgaria !

I really enjoyed Sofia, the city, the food and the people. The geographic location of Bulgaria makes that country full of many influences: eastern European and post Soviet area (they use wonderful Cyrillic alphabet) but including Mediterranean touches from Greece and Turkey: yogurt and cucumber sauce, pita bread and kebab like meat… so delicious!

Not to mention you can live there very cheaply. For 11 euros a day I stayed in a very peaceful hostel named Hostel Mostel, truly in the heart of the city. The hostel had a huge living room where you could meet many fellow travellers, many of them coming from western Europe and starting their Round the World trip, hence full of great conversations. Oh and did I mention that included in these 11 euros, was free wifi, free diner and beer everyday ? 🙂
